Research and transfer activities in health and social law form a central part of Erik Hahn’s academic work. His scholarship focuses on the digital and cross-border development of health systems—particularly digital health regulation, telemedicine and the governance of AI—while also examining social security and the evolving legal architecture of the welfare state in Germany and Europe.
Beyond theoretical analysis, his work is characterised by a strong translational dimension. He advises ministries, professional bodies and research institutions, contributes to national and European policy development, and participates in interdisciplinary projects addressing resilience, public health, and the ethical governance of care.
